Challenges

A challenge is a set period during which everyone taking part tries to hit the same daily step target. Three things define one:

  • A daily target — the number of steps that counts, each day, for everyone.
  • A period — the start and end dates.
  • A team — your jamatkhana.

You will see all three on the screen before you join.

Finding a challenge

Go to ACTIVE, then Challenges. There are three tabs:

  • Active — challenges you have joined that are running now.
  • Join — challenges open to you that you have not joined yet.
  • Past — challenges that have finished, with their results.

Upcoming is a section inside the Active tab, not a fourth tab — and it only shows challenges you have already joined that have not started yet. An announced challenge you have not joined lives in the Join tab until you join it.

Joining

Open the challenge from the Join tab and tap Join Challenge. You need to be signed in to the app — challenges are tied to your account and your jamatkhana.

Once you have joined, your steps count automatically. There is nothing else to set up, as long as your dashboard is already showing your activity.

Inviting other people

Open a challenge you have joined, or one you can still join, and tap the share icon. That sends a link which opens the challenge directly in the app for anyone who can take part.

The share option only appears while the challenge can still be joined. Once it has started there is nothing useful to share, so the icon goes away.

Why you might not see a challenge someone mentioned

Challenges are offered to particular groups. If one is not in your Join tab, it is almost always because it is not open to you rather than because something is broken.

If you follow a shared link to a challenge you cannot take part in, the app opens the ACTIVE home screen instead. That is the same thing: the challenge exists, but not for you.

You cannot create a challenge

Challenges are set up centrally rather than by individual users, so there is no way to start your own from the app.

While a challenge is running

Open it from the Active tab to see how far you are through the day's target and how your team is placed. See leaderboards and results for how the ranking works and what other people can see.
