Daily goals
A daily goal is a target you set for yourself, for one day. The dashboard shows three of them as rings, and each ring fills as you go.
| Goal | Typical starting target |
|---|---|
| Steps | 10,000 steps |
| Distance | 8 km |
| Calories | 500 kcal |
Those are the numbers the app suggests when you first set your goals. They are starting points, not requirements — pick whatever is right for you, and the suggested figures may differ depending on where you are.
Setting or changing a goal
- Open The Ismaili app and go to ACTIVE.
- Go to Goals.
- Drag the slider for each goal until it reads the number you want.
- Tap Save Goals.
You can change a goal as often as you like. You have one set of goals at a time, and a change applies from the moment you save it.
Goals are daily, not cumulative
Each goal is for a single day, and every day starts again at zero. A goal of 10,000 steps means 10,000 steps today — it is not a total you are working towards over a week or a month.
Your daily goal is not the challenge target
This one catches people out.
- Your daily goal is the target you set on this screen, for yourself.
- A challenge target is set by the challenge, is the same for everyone taking part, and is what the leaderboard counts.
They are two separate numbers, and they will usually be different. Setting a personal goal of 12,000 steps does not change a challenge that counts 8,000, and hitting your own goal is not the same as hitting the challenge's.
See challenges for what a challenge target does.
If a ring will not fill
A goal cannot be met if the activity is not reaching the app in the first place. Start with my dashboard shows zero, or — if the energy ring specifically is stuck — the energy ring stays at zero.
