The energy ring stays at zero
What you are seeing: Your steps and distance are updating normally, but the energy or calories ring never moves off zero.
What is happening
Confirm that is what is happening
- Open Health Connect.
- Tap Data and access, then Activity.
- Look for an Active calories burned category.
If that list is empty — or Samsung Health is missing from it while appearing under Steps — you have confirmed it. Nothing further to do.
If you want the energy ring to work
You need a different source that does write active calories:
- Fitbit writes steps, distance and active calories. You can install and use it alongside Samsung Health. See the Fitbit setup steps.
- A watch — Garmin, Amazfit and most fitness watches write active calories through their own app. See other phones and watches.
On iPhone
Active energy comes from Apple Health and normally works without anything extra. If your iPhone shows zero energy while steps are fine, check that Active Energy specifically is turned on:
Health → your profile picture → Apps and Services → The Ismaili.
Active energy also only accumulates during genuine movement, so a quiet day legitimately reads low.
