It says I need to install Health Connect
What is happening
On Android 8 to 13, Health Connect is a separate app from the Play Store, and your phone does not have it yet. Active Living reads your activity data through it, so it cannot work until it is installed.
On Android 14 and newer, Health Connect is built in, so you should not see this message. If you do, tell us and mention your Android version.
Fix it
- Tap Install Health Connect in the app. That opens the Play Store listing.
- Tap Install and wait for it to finish.
- Go back to The Ismaili app and open Active Living again.
- Tap Connect Health and allow all three permissions — Steps, Distance and Active calories burned.
Then connect a source of data
- Samsung phone → set up Samsung Health
- Pixel or most other phones → set up Fitbit or Google Fit
- A watch → Garmin, Amazfit and others
The Play Store did not open
Search for Health Connect in the Play Store manually. It is published by Google.
If your phone has no Play Store at all, Health Connect cannot be installed and Active Living cannot work on that device. See unsupported devices.
