Your dashboard

The dashboard is the first screen in ACTIVE. Everything on it is read from Apple Health on iPhone, or Health Connect on Android — the app does not count anything itself.

The three rings

RingWhat it shows
StepsSteps recorded today, against your daily goal
DistanceDistance walked or run today
Active caloriesActive energy burned today

Each ring fills towards the daily goal you set. A ring that stays empty usually means nothing is recording that particular measurement — the energy ring on a Samsung phone is the common case, and there is nothing to fix: see the energy ring stays at zero.

The chart

Below the rings, a chart shows your recent days so you can see a pattern rather than a single number. Today's figure appears alongside the days already closed.

Averages and totals

The dashboard also shows summary figures — averages by hour, week and month, and your total distance. These are worked out from the activity already sent to the app, so they build up over time rather than appearing complete on day one.

If your history looks shorter than you expected, that is usually the source app rather than a fault: see my older activity is missing.

Refreshing

Pull down on the dashboard to refresh. Your steps pass through several stages before reaching the app and each happens periodically, so a delay of a few minutes is normal. If it is hours behind, see my steps stopped updating.
